Snus originated in Sweden during the 19th century, and is a moist powdered tobacco. It is a form of snuff that is used in similar to American dip tobacco, but has there is no need to spit with Snus. Snus tobacco is steam cured rather than a fire cured tobacco and sugar is never added. Until recently Snus was not available in the US, but thanks to Camel Snus, Snus has made a significant introduction. There is a difference between Snuff and Snus, but it is quite confusing. The English word for Snuff means Snus in Swedish. In English and Swedish the Snus means a form of moist tobacco is placed under the upper lip. Snuff or luktsnus means the tobacco is inhaled.
